George Plevris is a Strategy and Foresight Manager at Growthfund, Greece’s Sovereign Wealth Fund, and works towards enhancing international stakeholders’ relations. Prior to joining Growthfund’s team, Mr. Plevris worked as a Senior Policy Advisor at the Presidency of the Greek Government. His portfolios included strategic foresight, foreign policy and EU affairs, rule of law and crisis management.
Mr. Plevris has, also, served as Alternate Secretary for International and EU relations for Nea Demokratia, Senior Policy Advisor to Dora Bakoyannis MP. His professional experience includes roles at the European Commission, focusing on defence, at the United Nations, working on public governance and development, as well as working as Senior Associate for PILPG’s law firm office based in the Hague, working on international criminal law and human rights violations.
In 2022 he was nominated by the US State Department as Transatlantic Inclusive Leader and joined GMF’s TILN Network, while in 2023 he was chosen as a Marshall Memorial Fellow by the GMF. He holds two bachelor’s degrees and three master’s degrees, specialising in international law and politics. He has lived in Europe and the Unites States.
