Dr. Dimitrios Bakolas is the President of European Profiles Greece Profiles. He holds a PhD in Computational Linguistics from the University of Kiev. In his early career teaching in the University of Kiev and participated in the development of retrieval information systems in Ukraine. Returning to Greece worked initially (1981-1984) as system engineer in Texas Instruments and Tandem Computers.

In 1985-1990 he was working with European Standardization Office (CEN/CENELEC) in Brussels and with the development of the English – Greek computerised translation system “SYSTRAN” in Luxemburg. In 1990 he created and was till 1995 the director of the Information Technology Institute of the Greek Productivity Centre, which became one of the biggest IT vocational training and consulting Institution in Greece. Since 1991 he is advisor on International projects of the European Profiles S.A., since 1996 President and CEO of European Profiles S.A.

Member of different EU experts groups, member of committees for bilateral cooperation of the Greek Government (1990 – 1995). Advisor to Governmental bodies of Moldova, Serbia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Egypt. Project Manager of variety of EU and World Bank financed projects in the field of SMEs, institutional Development, Education, Tourism, Social Assistance, Human Resources Development and Information Technology. Extensive working experience in Central/Eastern European and Mediterranean countries. He is author of numerous articles, studies and books. Fluent in English and Russian, with knowledge of French, German, Polish and Ukrainian. His book “Following the destiny, Route N1, Greece-Poland-Uzbekistan-Ukraine-Cyprus” has been translated and published in Russian, Ukrainian and Mongolian
