On January 17, 2025, the Ateneu L’Harmonia in Barcelona hosted a vibrant Meeting for Young People on Globalization, Gentrification, and Culture as part of the U4EU 2.0 project. Organized by Mitjans. Xarxa de Comunicadors i Educadors, the event gathered 34 participants, with 30 of them being young individuals from diverse backgrounds across Barcelona and its metropolitan area.
The day was packed with insightful discussions and activities:
- A masterclass by architect Emanuela Bove, diving into the impacts of gentrification, housing rights, and innovative local housing solutions in Barcelona.
- Interactive panel discussions where participants shared experiences and challenges from their neighborhoods, focusing on globalization, gentrification, and cultural diversity.
- A collaborative mapping activity that encouraged attendees to contribute their perspectives and ideas to the U4EU 2.0 map.
- An inspiring musical performance by Ainoa Muñoz and a culinary celebration of cultural diversity to conclude the event.
